Why I chose lewisw.net
As I mentioned elsewhere on this site, I usually go by lewisw online, while Lewis is the English name I use.
Since Lewis is a common name, many short domains pairing it with well-established TLDs have already been registered. Rather than adding numbers or an arbitrary word, I decided to use lewisw, which also works naturally as an abbreviation of Lewis Wang, and pair it with .net.
When I found that lewisw.net was still available, I registered it without much hesitation. .net is an established and widely recognized TLD, and it also feels appropriate for a personal website shaped partly by my interest in domains, email, networking and self-hosting.
lewisw.net may not be the shortest or cleverest domain I considered, but it feels personal without trying too hard. It gives me a stable place for my website, email and whatever I may choose to publish in the future.
For now, lewisw.net feels like the right choice, and I look forward to seeing what gradually takes shape here.
